'Hands' NFT Collection on Opensea
This August 2023, I'm very excited to release 'Hands', my first major NFT collection on Opensea. Based on my series of life-size paintings of iconic Basketball hands, I've expanded the original five artworks to include animations, videos and new colour schemes.
The original five pieces were painted onto 12" vinyl and titled - Mike, Giannis, Kawhi, Boban and Shaquille. For this NFT drop I've expanded these digitally with three new colours each. Every colour is symbolic, representing a specific team.
Then I've developed these into moving image variations. Firstly, with animated GIFs of the original five artworks, like the Giannis piece below.
Secondly, I've included the original time-lapse footage that blew up for me on Tiktok. The artwork below, featuring Michael Jordan's hand, has had over 3 million views on Tiktok so far. The time-lapse footage from this artwork (and all the other five) has been edited into NFT videos with music.

Thirdly, I've filmed the artworks spinning on my trusty portable Turntable. You'll need to go the drop page to check these out. You can also hear the music by YouTuber DJ Furio, who is soundtracking all my video NFTs with his unique 1990s style Hip Hop.
This whole project is made possible by a collaboration with Sebastian Markiewicz of CompatibleCreative, who knows far more about NFTs than I ever will. The drop is now live on Opensea scheduled to mint on August 24th.
